What a beautiful summer it's been

Looks like we will have about three times as many good summer days as we had last year. If it keeps up I might almost find New England tolerable again. Seems like short summers and long winters has been the trend lately.

We have all been busy here. After a great deal of effort and one summer lost the pool is finally usable again. We will at least get a few weeks of use before winterizing and it has been a relief in the past few days. no problem finding people to use it with 90+ temps.

I have sent out many invites to join this blog and gotten surprisingly few returns. I think some end up in junk mail bins and also know some addresses were wrong. Please let me know of any i should send and I will do so promptly. Email to.......bestshakerman@charter.net

Jordana left for medical college to become a doctor!

Well it has been one week since Jordana has left for med school and we sure do miss her!
She is going to New York Medical College in Vallahala, New York. It is about 20 minutes
from New York City. This Monday classes officially start . This past week was orientation which included alot of fun filled activities. Thursday they went for a boat cruise in NYC with the faculty
and her entire class (180 students). The cruise included dinner. drinks and dance. She is very
excited and happy. She is getting to fulfill her dream that she has had for many......years.
This past summer Jordana did a medical mission which took her to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. She said it was a wonderful experience !

Labor Day

Would like to have the Labor Day evening picnic at our house instead of the lake (I'm sure Glenn won't mind--less cleaning for you) so everyone please plan on coming on Sunday the 4th of Sept at 5:00ish. Bring a dish to share, we'll cook some chicken, if you want something else, please bring it. We'll provide drinks, paper goods, etc..basically like the usual Winn picnics.

Bolton nomination

Well he went and did it.A recess appointment for this bad actor and we're stuck with him till Jan. 2007. Why does Bush hate America? It's been good to him. Bush say's that only a few dems were holding the whole process up,but seems there were republicans with concerns also. Maybe some favor this tough guy approach with the other nations. I'm of an opinion that a little humility would go a long way at this point. What say you?
