Well Lookie Here

Turn around and we have new posts. Welcome Pete. I see you have tried some of the script options etc. You are braver than I.

The show in Kent was great and Bobcat Bill was so intent on having us there that he went out of his way and hauled our tractor all the way up there and back. I think we have a little indebtedness here. Go easy Bobcat. Even though the show isn't real large several people came and whet that I missed. Among those was Pete. I guess there is just too much to look at and a lot of bs as well.

The heat season has begun and I spent the day reconnecting my woodstove in the shop. Can't hold out any longer as it was only 58 this am. Too cold for the fingers and the spirits. It is the time of year that I think of chairmaking and that is the only thing good about it from my perspective.

Encourage others to post by posting yourself. A short one is just fine. Where are those Alaska relatives? And Bobcat might be able to get the Arizona Winns also.

Take care everyone,

Jack

Evening Labor Day event a great success

Labor Day Weekend Party

Just thought we would put our 2 cents in regarding the party! We all had a great time! It's the simple things in life that make it all worth wild. I don't get much time lately with school, work and everything else, and it is a great chance to see our loved ones. I agree Suzanne, the Katrina and also the 9-11 events just make you stop and wonder about what is really important in life. We would certainly take our turn at having the Labor Day party. Sounds like a plan. Also reviving the Birge get together is a good idea, and New Years weekend would be good after all the Christmas commotion!!! We don't need holidays or any other kind of party to get together. What we need is a just because get together.
Sounds good to me. See ya all soon, Jack and Jane

Thanks to everyone

Yes I think the picnic was a success..I couldn't believe it was really 10:00 when people started to leave. It wouldn't have been so much fun without you all being there and bringing all the delicious food. Maybe we can take turns with this like we do the Christmas party, especially since it seems like this is Glenn's weekend to be away with Low's family. Wish the Bobbis could have been represented but it was great to have everyone else, especially Brian's girls who really livened up the party. Wanted to let everyone know that we did find a black cable necklace in our driveway..don't know if it's yours Joyce since I thought you said yours was gold, this has a silver heart hanging on it.

Can't believe Jon was traveling around Thailand on a motorbike..what a life?

Nice to see Jayme on here...we're making progress!

Forgot to ask at the picnic what everyone thinks about reviving the Birge get-together for the holidays (we really need to keep up with our cousins)..what about New Year's weekend? Kathy has offered to host it (I think). Let's hear some opinions!

Labor Day Get Together A Success!

I really like our new tradition of getting together for Labor Day in the evening, with the cozy fire going, and the yummy s'mores. It's becoming one of my favorite events. Realizing more and more as I get older :( the irreplaceable value of family and friends, and even more so with the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. What is the most sought-after item for these homeless people? Their loved ones. No one is out searching among the rubble for their SUVs or their big screen TVs. Thanks to Laurie and Butch for putting the party together after a busy week at Old Orchard Beach, and thanks to all who came, and to everyone else - YOU WERE MISSED!
